Earning & Using Channel Points
Channel Points are unique to each enrolled channel and can be earned through various actions such as Watching, Following, and Participating in Raids. Doing these actions on an eligible channel will reward you with Channel Points for that channel.
Everyone loves points and rewards! Your loyal fans will now be able to earn points from doing what they’re already doing in your channel such as watching, following, or participating in a raid. The Channel Points program will add another layer of entertainment by letting your viewers spend their points on fun rewards, some of which give them a taste of benefits typically reserved for subscribers, that seamlessly add to their community experience.
Channel Points Setup & Management
Channel Points is available to all Twitch Affiliates & Partners. You can managed your program in the Creator Dashboard. If you do not wish to have Channel Points enabled on your channel, you may disable the feature completely by toggling the Enable Channel Points option.

- To minimize potential harassment vectors, we’ve made sure that each of these new mechanics are just as easy to moderate as messages in chat. As custom rewards are redeemed and granted, streamers will have the ability to review the redemptions and cancel if they are deemed inappropriate. Banned users will not be able to redeem points for rewards.
How will I be able to see what rewards I need to manually fulfill while I’m streaming?
- For custom rewards like “Ask Me Anything” we will notify you through chat and the live dashboard whenever a new redemption occurs and needs your attention.
- We recommend popping out the reward management page from the activity feed. We will also surface a counter that shows how many rewards are in your queue and need your attention.
What if custom rewards become too much to handle?
- Don’t worry! We want to make this easy for you so you can turn off custom rewards at any time if you choose to. We allow streamers to cap the number of custom rewards that can be redeemed during a single stream session. Streamers may also pause redemption of a reward altogether if needed.
Will I be able to see how many points a viewer has?
- This information will not be accessible at this time.
Will I be able to transfer points from my existing program?
- Not at this time. Other programs do not offer a way to transfer points out so we can’t offer this.
Can I continue to use my existing points program from a 3rd party developer?
- Yes.
Can I reset the Channel Points my viewers have earned?
- No, you can not reset points at this time.
Can I see which of my viewers have earned the most points?
- No. We are planning to build tools that show you who is earning and how much they’re earning, but that is not yet available.
Can I give out bonus Channel Points to certain viewers?
- No, not at this time.
